Exposure: Taken 1-29-04.
1 X 120 min. on hypered Tech Pan through a red filter.
There was a 1/4 moon when this image was shot.
The red filter effectively blocked out  most of the skyglow and light pollution.
Processing: Curves adjusted in Photoshop. 
Equipment: Orion 120 ST f/5 refractor. Red 25a filter.
Losmandy G-11 Gemini mount.
SBIG ST-4 and Celestron guidescope.
Notes: The brightest star in the photo is Alnitak, the easternmost star in Orion's belt.
The horsehead B33 is a cloud of obscuring dust that lies in front of the emission nebula IC434.
The Flame Nebula NGC2024 is the complex in the lower-left part of the image.
