Luminance: Taken 6-12-04. 90 minutes on hypered Tech Pan.
Both exposures were taken through a Lumicon deepsky filter. |

Images were aligned in Registar, combined
in Photoshop.
Levels, curves adjusted in Photoshop. |
Equipment: |
RGB and Luminance were taken immediately following each other and used identical
equipment:
Orion 120 ST f/5 refractor.
Televue field flattener.
Lumicon deepsky filter.
Losmandy G-11 Gemini mount.
ST-4 autoguider on a Celestron guidescope. |
Notes: |
The Cocoon is the red emission nebula. B168 is the dark nebula leading off
to the right of the Cocoon. There is a subtle blue reflection component to this
nebula that didn't show up through the deepsky filter. |
