Everything doesn't always go as planned!
Here is a collection of things that Murphy helped with.

Blooperp40-10thm.jpg (11840 bytes) This is what happens when your autoguider loses the guidestar.
I set everything up and started the exposure, then went inside to brew a pot of coffee.

The result is a very interesting shot of M13.

rosette-52a-5blooperthm.jpg (19026 bytes) I have made a habit of hanging the autoguider cable off the scope rings to alleviate tension on the CCD head.  At some point in the 90 minute exposure, the cable slipped off the rings and the weight cause the guider to lose its guide star.

The result is an unusual shot of the Rosette Nebula
